Project Goal:
Create an app that helps entry-level creatives find jobs and/or internships through fostering connections and offering resources.
My Role
I led this project as the team leader, guiding discussions from ideation to finalization and contributing to tasks like creating User Scenarios, Task Flow Diagrams, and App Design/Prototyping. I also delivered all presentations, established our company identity, assisted with PowerPoint design, and oversaw quality assurance, ensuring cohesiveness and resolving bugs during playtesting.

Project Background
As entry level creatives, we find it difficult to find out where to locate job opportunities. There are various resources that can help entry-level professionals enter their respective fields, however, none specifically target creative fields. We wanted to create an app that helps entry-level creatives find jobs and/or internships through fostering connections and offering resources.
“How might we help entry-level creatives find opportunities to gain experience?”
Disney's Creative Thinking
After my team decided on a topic, we used Google Jamboard to decide what features our solution should have, as well as any potential issues could arise.

Stakeholder Map
Who and what is involved for our product, service, and experience.
Market Research
Our app aims to streamline job and internship searches by connecting young creatives with a wide array of employers, particularly startups seeking creative talent. Comparable platforms, such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and even Facebook, underscore the potential for a robust customer base and promising market reception if the app is successfully launched.
Competitor Feature Analysis

Timelines, communities, events, & messenger.
Applicant tracking and management, candidate profiles, job searching & ability to upload resume.
Indeed
Professional networking, job searching, ability to research companies, & skill tests.
Often spreads misinformation and does not target job applicants.
It is hard to get noticed, not all employers are on LinkedIn, and it can be confusing to newcomers.
Does not include resume building, the ability to build connections, live remote interviews and resume assessment.

For Artquire's logo, I chose a painterly font (called QuiteMagical) and replaced the "I" in Artquire with a paintbrush.
Colors
In order to appeal to creatives, we chose a bold yellow and purple. Purple is associated with ambition, while yellow is associated with creativity.

Design Process
Affinity Diagram
We did a five minute brainstorming session to decide what features we wanted in our app. We then discussed what ideas to keep and which ideas to remove. We then organized the various features of the app into similar categories. These categories eventually became each individual icon on the tool bar.

Design Requirements
After discussing what potential features we wanted in our app, we settled on four non-negotiable design requirements:
-
Have an area where people can get advice from real people in the industry
-
Be able to give users job recommendations within the creative field
-
Have an area where users can add their portfolios for feedback
-
Allow users to research companies in an unbiased manner
